On Skate Parks and Love

For the past days, I've been seeing Carlo watching youtube videos on how to make a skate park. Well, apparently, his love for tech deck has made a come back. One time, I decided to see it myself and then there was that light bulb moment saying, hey, I can do that and that will save me a lot of moolah if I start constructing those ramps for my son.

They say that the first one will be  the hardest, well yeah, because it took me around 2 hours to make this. And voila, here's the 1st quarter pipe that I had made and bb boy was really happy about it. Also, the comments from my fb and twitter friends for this photo were so overwhelming I felt like crying. Yay! I rhymed! :D Oh, I got 3 kisses from him because of this. :3

That same night, Carlo had made lambing to me that he wants stairs with rail for his finger board. So, who am I to say no? I immediately looked for materials available and I saw these old wooden blocks and assembled it;  for the rail, I had used old pail handles. Guess I should make a separate DIY entry for these, LOL, I kid.
He was so giddy when I had finished this and gave me yet another set of kisses and a tight hug. ♥♥♥

I can say that this is the better version of my quarter pipe, it has a more professional appeal (LOL professional? SRZLY?!)

Maybe for some, it's just a simple toy, but for me it has a deeper meaning to it. As a single mom who is raising a boy who is already nearing his puberty age is one tough task but I see to it that in my own simple ways, I can make him happy and somehow make him feel contented with who he has right now. When he grows older, he will surely remember this day when his momma made him his own skate park and that thought gives me the happies. :D

P.S. Carlo told me, ok lang naman po talaga kahit walang daddy eh, kaya mo naman gawin everything for me eh. Huhu, my heart... it melted! ♥♥♥

La Laguna Festival 2012

All the 26 towns and four 4 component cities of Laguna are united again for the grandest celebration that we, Lagunenses look forward to. In this said event, the participants made sure that their booths are really eye catching that you will surely go inside where they showcase the best of their products which was made by very artsy and talented people.

The festival will still have its series of contests and shows to entertain the visitors. Some of the activities lined-up are Land Float Competition, Street Dancing Competition, Dragon Boat Racing and Banca Racing, Pyro Musican Competition, La Laguna New Wave Short Film Festival Competition, Brass Band Competition, Dog Show Competition,  Binibini and Ginonong Laguna, and a whole lot more.

Here are some of the photos I took on the 1st day of the festival:

The town of Cavinti and Luisiana offers a wide array of native products --from bayong, purses, fans, lanterns to bean bags and even throw pillows.

San Pablo City sells tarts, pastillas, polvoron, meringue, etc.

Calauan is popular for its sweet and very tasty pineapples.

The town of Victoria is known for its best itlog na pula  and yummy fried itik.

One of the entries for the street art competition

I have to commend the hardwork of Gov. ER Ejercito for establishing this festival which really brings joy to its constituents, also, it can be a great venue for tourism as well, good job and high fives to the municipalities who cooperated to make this project possible! I may have been born and raised in Manila, but so far, I am loving it here already, cheers to more fun moments, Lagunuh! :D

What's In Your Bag?

I remember, in 2009 I had already posted something like this on tumblr and I ended up deleting it because I'm impulsive, like that! ;) But a dear blogger friend, Ava, made an entry about what's inside her bag and that inspired me to take photos of what you can see inside the bag of a 28 year old college student.

I'm into big bags with a lot of compartments for my important stuff down to the various trinkets I bring every day. Kids in my school would have a second look at the bag that I am carrying, maybe they think I'm staying in and would have mistaken it for a weekend bag, but like I care, I like it big, nuff said. :)

The-bag-of-the-moment as to what had Ava described hers ;)

I can say that I am pretty organized with my things, that cute Matryoshka doll is a pencil case which is very helpful for someone who has a huge bag. That I Paris envelope is where I keep my COR, receipts, permits and I.D. pictures. I also have a separate envelope for my sticky notes which is very useful for my reminders because most of the time, the inevitable happens and memory gap kicks in. Oh, there goes my school I.D. which I really covered with the lace because of you know why already. :p

Inside the bag is a bag organizer which basically keeps my wipes, tissue paper, cologne, perfume, powder and hand sanitizer. Stapler and paper clips are also an essential for me because I hate asking things from my classmates.

I'm not into make-ups so I just have a blush, lipstick and a brush for my daily look in school, besides, IMHO, you just really have to keep it simple when you're inside the campus, you don't want to look like you're going to a party with all the kolorete on your face. :)  And due to the ever changing mood of the weather, I  always keep a fan in my bag, a water container to quench my thirst,  and an umbrella to protect me from the scorching heat of the sun. Also, I prefer a cute coin purse instead of wallets.

In case it gets boring in school, I have a book to turn to or an mp3 player to soothe me when I'm in a bad mood. There goes my ever reliable LG Prada mobile phone and a Nokia Mural which serves as a back-up phone (Girl Scout, laging handa ang peg~), my name plate which I don't use, an extra pair of earrings, house keys, vintage watch of my pops which I always bring with me, and I make sure I have something to nibble just in case I get hungry, hihi. ^_^

The downside of having a big bag is that obviously, it's heavy, but I really don't make a big fuss out of it for as long as I know that everything that I need to get me through the day in school is inside my tote, and I am one happy girl already. :D

Slater Young Appreciation Post

Hai! Vacation is pretty fun, I've been fangirling over this Hotshot Engineer from Cebu, the guy who captured the hearts of many Filipinas all over the world, the Big Winner of the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited Season 4, my baby (LOL), Jan Slater Young. Upon his first tv appearance, I just knew that we were meant for each other (NOW THAT'S CREEPY!), kidding aside, I knew in my heart from the very start that he has the strongest potential in winning the game, and he did! ^_^ He is not just another pretty face in the room, he is smart, responsible, a good leader, and a very well-mannered guy and, and I love him for everything that he is! OMGGGG!!!

So flawless nu? Nomnomnom.

HNNNNGGGG

MY OVARIES!!!

I just have to have it printed.
